IBC 2017 Amsterdam

This year at IBC we introduced the latest generation of H.265 High Efficiency Video Coding to our microwave systems, the Cogent CamLink Wireless Radio Camera Transmitter,  the Cogent Airbourne Surveillance Transmitter (AST2), the ‘CogentLink-2HD’ portable microwave link system, and our all-new Cogent ExpresSat Ka/Ku-band carbon-fibre segmented satellite flyaway terminal.
We also demonstrated the many enhanced features and usability of our ‘Caster’ family of bonded cellular 3G/4G/LAN/WiFi video transmitters and decoders.

Cogent Technologies has introduced across its range of microwave products H.265 High Efficiency Video Encoding which offers exceptional compression ratios on video resolutions up to 4K UHD. The codec supports low latency (encoder + decoder) of 60ms which makes it ideal for live applications such as wireless cameras with the Cogent CamLink Radio Transmitter.

The Cogent Airbourne Surveillance Transmitter (AST2) not only offers exceptional performance with DVB T2 OFDM modulation, but a transmission range up to 200km and it can support four simultaneous 1080 HD inputs.

Similarly the CogentLink 2HD point to point portable microwave link provides the same key features plus DVB-S and DVB-S2 transmission schemes, and an operating frequency range of 1.3 to 11 GHz.

We have been developing our new ExpresSat Ka band satellite flyaway system into a dual band terminal. With a minimal exchange of parts, the terminal can be easily changed from Ka to Ku band. Thus keeping with our philosophy of “easy to assemble and deploy”.  Supplied in two lightweight soft cases the design is compact with robust construction. The ExpresSat is supplied with our H.265 High Efficiency Video Encoder providing exceptional compression ratios on video resolutions up to 4K UHD, alternatively being able to support four simultaneous 1080 HD inputs if required. A circular waveguide interface for direct TRIA mounting, and SSPA/TWTA integration.
