Cogent-Technologies, a leader in live video contribution, has completed a major contract for supply of microwave link systems, vehicle mount satellite systems and fly-away satellite systems for the MOI in Kuwait. The contract includes design, manufacture, and integration onto vehicles and a complete range of engineering, training and operator support services. Two Products within the “Satlinks’’ range were used for integration on vehicles. This included a 1.2 metre antenna fitted on a GMC SUV vehicle, (as pictured), and a slightly larger 1.5 metre system fitted to a Mercedes Sprinter vehicle. Both vehicles were fitted with fully integrated uplink chains and automatic satellite acquisition provided with CogenTRAC control systems. In addition to the supplied vehicles, an ExpresSat flyaway terminal was supplied along with a large number of CogentLink 2HD systems. The extreme climate of Kuwait was of special concern and with temperatures reaching 54°C ambient during the summer months, Cogent is very pleased to report highly reliable operation.
